Dr. Claire Launchbury
Knowledge Management Officer
Claire has a mixed professional background in academia. She has taught at universities in France, UK, Ireland and Australia with research focusing on issues of memory and justice in postwar Lebanon and also the third sector. She was Outreach Lead at Central London Samaritans and a postvention advisor for the central charity, as well as a listening volunteer for several years.
Claire also works in student welfare at Oxford University where she trains students in Peer Support and latterly acquired an MA in Refugee Care (Essex/Tavi).
Her published work range from French poetry to Lebanon’s bus network via auto-ethnographic work on class, race and representation at Grenfell. She also has political journalism bylines in Le Monde and Le Monde diplomatique (English edition).
