This year’s Kiltwalks in Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Dundee have seen record numbers of sponsored walkers, including many miles already covered by Christian Aid’s 2024 Kiltwalkers.

Now, the countdown is on to the 2024 Edinburgh Kiltwalk (Sunday 15 September).

As we approach the final event of the year, sign-ups are open to walk in the capital, with thousands of walkers from across Scotland set to take part.

We really hope that you or someone from your church will put on your tartan and join us this year.

We are also delighted to offer a short act of worship together for anyone choosing to walk the 10am Big Stroll. At St Andrew’s High Church in Musselburgh, whether walking or cheering the team on, all are welcome to join in worship at 9.15am, timed so that all on the Big Stroll can meet, worship together and be at the starting line in good time for 10am.

For walkers on earlier starting times, the church will be open from 8.30am for tea and coffee, and to meet other walkers on your starting wave.

For further information contact Edinburgh@Christian-Aid.org, or during registration you can choose Leslie Milton as your team coordinator, and the team name ‘Christian Aid Edinburgh Kiltwalk’ to receive further information.

What about distances?

Not sure about the start time or distance? There are a range of additional options available.

The 5-mile Wee Wander starts from Victoria Park in Leith and joins the same route to Murrayfield, whilst the 20-mile Mighty stride begins right in the heart of the city, from the doorstep of Parliament, beneath the shadows of Arthur’s seat, and beyond, also finishing at Murrayfield.

Whichever length you choose, you’ll be walking much of the same route together, not only with thousands of other walkers sharing the path, but also walking in solidarity for justice with communities around the world.

You can also sign up a fundraising page, or donate directly to Team Edinburgh on JustGiving.

We are here to support you and to celebrate all that you decide to do as part of Christian Aid’s 2024 Kiltwalk.

If you have already signed-up to walk please do get in contact with us at Edinburgh@Christian-Aid.org and we can provide further resources and support, including your Christian Aid T-shirt and more!

The Kiltwalk is a celebration of all that churches across Scotland do to support Christian Aid’s work, in solidarity with our global neighbours. If you are thinking of taking part, you can walk assured that your efforts will help care for creation and empower communities worldwide to lift themselves out of poverty.
