Many pupils are walking out of school to protest against inaction on climate change.
Christian Aid understands the challenge that this presents for teachers. In response, we have prepared some materials for those who want to explore in school the issues around climate justice which have been brought into sharp focus through the action of young people.
We have a film and an assembly available for you to use.
The film explains the background issues, while the assembly plan offers an opportunity to explore the issues around climate justice within school, to acknowledge the power of our young people, and to listen seriously to their voices and let them know that they are heard and that adults are listening.
The assembly also offers an opportunity to gently introduce those young people who do not know much about environmental issues to some of the questions raised by the strikes.
