Shifting Power in Aid: How Christian Aid is contributing to locally led development
Christian Aid is an organisation with a long-standing commitment to working in partnership with local organisations.
Recent efforts to shift power to partners, and to support the voice and agency of communities affected by poverty, have been given fresh impetus by debates in the aid sector about localisation, decolonisation and locally-led development.
This report highlights key actions and achievements by Christian Aid in 2023/24 in shifting power to our partners, for example by prioritising equitable funding, by ensuring partners are leading decision-making in programming, and by advocating in the sector for more locally-led programming.
As a first report, it's also our baseline, ensuring we are transparent and accountable to partners and the wider sector on shifting power in aid.
